There are many websites that offer free e-cards. Here are a few of the best ones:
- FreeEcard.com
- E-Cards by Mail
- Greeting Card Universe
- The Greeting Card Company
- My E-Cards
If you’re looking to send eCards to your friends and family, there are hundreds of websites from which to choose. We’ve done the hard work and scouted the best sites with a widest range of eCards for birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions.
It’s important to know that some of these websites let you download the cards to your computer or phone while other websites send the eCards on your behalf—once you enter the recipient’s email address. But, many times, emails from these websites are considered promotional and might end up in your recipient’s spam folder. Make sure that you confirm that your recipient has received the eCard. To avoid this, you can always download the card and send it yourself or share the card on social media instead of sending it by email.
Punchbowl: Best for Most People
You’ll find an eCard for almost every occasion on Punchbowl. The cards are beautifully designed, and the website makes it easy to find and discover new cards. There are plenty of categories of cards including birthdays, festivals, wedding, professional, religious and more. Cards in all categories have a consistently pleasant design.
Before sending a card, you can personalize each design with your name or other text. You can then send the eCard to all your guests or schedule it for later. If you install the mobile apps, you can opt-in to get push notifications whenever any of your guests confirm their presence—if you send a card with an RSVP feature.
Blue Mountain: Good if You Want Some Fun, Animated eCards
Blue Mountain is one of the older websites for sending eCards, and it’s still relevant and thriving today. Apart from regular cards, Blue Mountain also has animated cards, video cards, and a few other interactive cards. Not all of those cards are available for free though. Once you select a card, you can personalize it to some degree, then send it by email or share it across social media. Bear in mind that some cards can only be personalized with preselected names.
The website operates on a freemium model where you can send most eCards for free, but other services like scheduling, exclusive cards, sending physical cards, and including gift cards require a subscription. Their plans start at $4.99 a month, and you can find out details on their membership page.
Pingg: Good if You Want More Distinctive Designs
You’ll find eCards for birthdays, invitations, holidays, and many other occasions on Pingg. The number of designs might not be as high as some of the other options we discussed, but each design is created by different artists, making them feel a bit more distinctive. If you’re interested, you can find all the designers on their designer’s page.
Since all the cards on Pingg are created by designers, you’ll find a variety of design styles from which to choose. On selecting a design, you’ll have the option to customize it before you send it out. The designer uses Adobe Flash, so make sure that it’s enabled in your browser. Follow the instructions in this article if you need help.

Someecards: Good if You Like Funny Cards
If sending funny cards is your thing, then you’ll love the eCards from Someecards. The cards are funny in mostly a dad-joke kind of way and use modern, pop culture language. You won’t find the many cards on the homepage as their website has transformed into a publication instead of just being a card service. To see all the cards, use the menu to go to the eCards section or use this link.
The sharing options are on the site are somewhat limited. Once you find the card that you’re looking for, all you can do is share it on Facebook, email, and some other social media sites. The website did offer customization options, but it seems that has been discontinued. There is also no mass-send feature, so keep in mind before choosing a card.
